Coming Up Show and Pop-up Store

Hello! Just dropping a note to announce that we will be at the Holiday Remix show this Saturday December 10th 2016 at the Old Broadway Armory in Chicago. The show is on Saturday only and runs from 11am to 4pm. The Old Broadway Armory is located in Chicago at the Broadway Armory Park, 5917 N Broadway St. Chicago, IL 60660. We are also in the pop-up shop run by the Remix Chicago organization and the Edgewater Development Corporation located in the historic Belle Shore Hotel located at 1052 W Bryn Mawr Ave. Chicago, IL. The pop-up shop will be open every weekend through December 30th 2016 (Fridays 4pm to 7pm, Saturdays & Sundays noon to 5pm). You can find more information about the show and the pop-up shop here.

Eco-dyeing

Thinking about my class with Olga Kazanskaya at the Midwest Felting Symposium back at the end of June and thinking about bundles...

It looks like I am done with craft fairs for the holiday season. I may be doing one in January but that one is still in limbo and I'm not sure the organizers will get it going that soon. I will let you know. But, in the meantime, I now have time to play (which I am really looking forward to)! I have been wanting to work on some wall hanging ideas since I came back from the Felter's Fling back at the beginning of September, and the SDA conference in Arrowmont in Mid-October just made me itch to play with wall hangings all the more! I had great fun at both events and learned lots and lots! Between those two events and a couple weddings I have done a fair amount of traveling this fall. I have literally put thousands of miles on my car. I think my car has gotten more mileage since Mid-August to now than it normally does in a year... lol! Anyway, I have loads of pictures on my iphone and camera to upload but here is just a taste... this picture is from my camera from my trip to Gatlinburg TN and Arrowmont (the camera had the least amount of photos, everything else is on my iphone which needs my computer to be updated in order to properly download/upload properly)... A glimpse of the Smokies! :)

Anyway, I am thinking about changing up my blog design. It has been the same (with the exception of the revolving title picture) since 2008. There are newer more interesting templates available so you might be seeing some changes in the blog design before the new year.

The next show I'm selling at is at the Chicago Botanic Gardens website here and it is called the "Fine Art of Fiber". It starts Thursday night and runs during the day Friday through Saturday.

Beautiful Early Summer Day in Chicago

It is a beautiful early summer day here in Chicago. A good day to be outside and eco-dyeing! :)

Spring has finally sprung!

Spring has finally sprung here in the upper Midwest. As I type I can hear Doves cooing and birds chirping. Another sign of spring is that my cats are spending all there time in the windows rather than near the radiators (even though it can get cool at night still). It is also time to start filling out applications for Fall and Winter Craft fairs... lol! I have been busy working on a embroidered art piece for an exhibition titled the "Exquisite Uterus" although I'm not sure when it is going to run since they lost their venue (they are actively seeking another). I will have to post some picture of my progress. I have also in the last couple days been cleaning out my basement studio since it flooded in the rains a few days ago... ugh! I have several towels still in the backyard drying out so I can shake off the grit and put them in the washing machine. Fun huh? Anyway, I finally got back to work on my piece today since the basement is now all dry. Anyway, I needed a break so I thought I would start dusting off my social media sites (which have been thoroughly neglected. :)

Out of the Box Holiday Market 2013

Hi, We are going to once again be a part of the pop up store known as "Out of the Box" in Oak Park. This is a holiday Market with a wide and changing array of artisans. We will be there every weekend till the weekend before Christmas. Come check us out as well as the other artists. This year we are lucky enough to be in the same space as last year.
