Spring has finally sprung here in the upper Midwest. As I type I can hear Doves cooing and birds chirping. Another sign of spring is that my cats are spending all there time in the windows rather than near the radiators (even though it can get cool at night still). It is also time to start filling out applications for Fall and Winter Craft fairs... lol! I have been busy working on a embroidered art piece for an exhibition titled the "Exquisite Uterus" although I'm not sure when it is going to run since they lost their venue (they are actively seeking another). I will have to post some picture of my progress. I have also in the last couple days been cleaning out my basement studio since it flooded in the rains a few days ago... ugh! I have several towels still in the backyard drying out so I can shake off the grit and put them in the washing machine. Fun huh? Anyway, I finally got back to work on my piece today since the basement is now all dry. Anyway, I needed a break so I thought I would start dusting off my social media sites (which have been thoroughly neglected. :)

Just a quick note to say that I will be in the Ravenswood ArtWalk this weekend. I will be housed in the Big tent. More information about the Ravenswood ArtWalk and the artist's exhibiting can be found here.

I just wanted to make you all aware of the wonderful show starting tonight at the Chicago Botanic Gardens, "The Fine Art of Fiber". This is a show put on by three guilds: the Illinois Quilter's Inc., the North Suburban NeedleArts Guild, and the Weavers Guild of the North Shore. My mother Camilla Krueger will be there selling her wonderful felted hats, vests, and wraps. Please come out this weekend and check it out and get a jump start on your Christmas shopping...lol. More information on the show here .

Besides working on scarves for craft fairs I worked on a piece that is going to be part of a gallery show titled "Blind Eye: The Result of Doing Nothing" I will be posting more pictures but here is a teaser.

I have been ignoring my blog lately. I've just been so busy. And, next week I am off to the Midwest Felting Symposium (will be taking pictures to post). I will be taking classes with Pamela MacGregor and Pam de Groot. Needless to say I am really looking forward to it. The only fly in my ointment at the moment is a sore throat. I see the doctor about that on Thursday. I refuse to be sick! Anyway, I felt like my blog needed a change, so I changed the title picture. The thing is, I think I need a bigger change (to the blog that is). I am seriously thinking about changing the template. So, if you come back and the blog is completely redesigned don't be surprised. It probably won't happen for a couple weeks yet since I really need to pack all my supplies and some clothes...lol. So, since I don't like to post without pictures, above (for your inspiration) you will find a photo I took of a decorative wall outside the walled gardens at the Chicago Botanic Gardens back in June. It comes off as one of those illusion illustrations (which is kind of cool), and the texture...I really like the texture. Anyhow, Ciao for now. :)
As much as it makes me shudder to say this, I am approaching middle-age (actually I think I am already there...sigh). I have a great many interests (e.g. Anthropology, Photography, Textiles), but at the moment I am concentrating on fiber art (felting and dying fabric in particular). I came to the world of fiber art not that long ago. I have been at it for a little over three years. I sell my felted art at a local shop and and enter the occasional artisan/craft show. I am still taking art classes here and there. I think at this point I should probably call myself a professional student. LOL! I am also a member of the Surface Design Association and the administrator for the Illinois chapter of the SDA's blog.
It goes without saying that all original photographs, text, and images are owned and copyrighted by me. Please be respectful and contact me if you wish to use any of the above. Chances are good I will say yes.
